The mayor tightened the last bolt today and a drum roll and a confetti shower declared the 500MU ‘ready’. The festive moment was celebrated with the employees of Dieseko who stood proudly around this enormous vibratory hammer to admire the end result of development and construction with their own eyes.
This largest mono vibratory hammer in the world has a weight of over 100,000 kg and a lifting capacity of another 300,000 kg. The vibrohammer has 500kgm of eccentric moment and is driven by 2 power units that supply a total of 3,200 litres of hydraulic oil under a pressure of 320 bar. The 500MU is a 12-eccentric vibratory hammer with an Upend system. This system is powered by an electric-hydraulic power pack. The upend system allows the machine to tilt and also pick up a horizontal stored tube. This saves a lot of time and makes additional auxiliary installations unnecessary. But the real gain is for the sea life because vibro installation is by far the least harmful installation technique.
With this PVE 500MU, anchor piles will be installed for a wave-energy field.
