Vibrating technology is specified for Port of Koper extension due to noise restrictions

Luka Koper has started the main construction works for the extension of the southern part of Pier I. Dieseko is involved by renting out two large Vibratory Hammers and power packs.

Dieseko’s PVE 110M and 150M Vibratory Hammer are being deployed at Koper Port extension in Slovenia. Due to noise restrictions set by the authorities, vibratory technology was specified. Dieseko Group is proud of being part of this prestigious project. As many as 900 piles are being vibrated.

The first phase of the project consists of the quayside extension of 98,5 meters and 34,4 meters in width. The first quayside was completed in 2021 with a total length of 695 meters. In the second phase, 24.830 m2 of additional stacking areas for containers will be constructed – these works should be completed in 2022. The piles have a length of 46.0 up to 67.0 meters, and the diameters are 813 mm and 1016 mm. 90% of the height is being vibrated into the soft seabed. This vibrating method is chosen very carefully for environmental reasons as it causes less noise pollution and less harmful vibrations compared to the classic impact hammering method.

Dieseko Group is proud of being part of this prestigious project. As many as 900 piles are being vibrated.
