Construction of Mierzeja Spit

The Polish-Belgian consortium NDI and Besix will construct a new waterway connecting Gdańsk Bay to the Vistula lagoon.

The consortium will build a port, a channel along with waiting positions from the side of the Gulf of Gdańsk and, an artificial island. This island of more than 100 hectares will be created to serve the fauna and flora and becomes a habitat for environmental protection.

Dieseko Group is proud to be part of this project. Dieseko Poland is supplying High-frequency Variable Moment Vibratory Hammers and an Impact Hammer and Bell Dredging Equipment. The first stage is to pile sheets around the island, and dredging works will be the next step.

Update 08-2020:

Dieseko Poland now supplies 7 sets of foundation equipment to the various contractors in this important project.

Last week, a brand new PVE 5NL Impact hammer arrived due to the tough ground conditions. For executing the lock on this project a 1000m long cofferdam will be installed by RUSIECKI. The soil conditions are so heavy that this PVE Impact Hammer has to drive the sheetpiles to the final depth. Pre-installing the sheetpiles is done with a PVE 24VM Vibratory hammer. The duration of this part of the project is approx. 4 months.
